Why do I love my new Rode NT-USB Mini microphone so much? I’ll tell you in just a minute.
Many of you know that I’ve worked in professional video production for over 20 years. In the 90s and early 2000’s, I worked in Hollywood, producing movie trailers, TV promos, even a few TV shows and a movie.
During that time, I worked with the biggest names in the voiceover business and I always wished that I could sound as good as they do.
And while I don’t have the pipes for my voice to actually sound as good as theirs, I want the technical quality of my audio to be as good as theirs.
Because of that, I’ve never been a fan of USB microphones. They add way too much bass and sound too compressed to me.
But I’ve got a whole new appreciation for USB microphones – well, one USB microphone in particular. The new Rode NT-USB Mini.
I’m recording on it right now, so you can tell that it sounds great. My voice sounds natural and clean, just like you want on a podcast or Alexa Flash Briefing.
Rode is one of the biggest names in studio-quality microphones and this little USB mic is perfect for my Flash Briefings. I can’t say enough good things about it.
And the best part? It’s only $99. That’s cheaper than a Blue Yeti or even the Amazon basics knockoff of the Yeti. And it sounds much better to my ears.
Unfortunately, as of this recording, they’re sold out all across America, but I found mine at Musician’s Friend.com
Just keep searching and you’ll find one.
Believe me, it will be worth your time.
